Doosan Fuel Cell advances as a top-tier global player in hydrogen economy with achievement of supplying its fuel cells to the world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell power plant once again.

Doosan Fuel Cell participated in the opening ceremony of ‘Shinincheon Bitdream Fuel Cell Power Plant’ on October 26 at the Shinincheon Bitdream Headquarters in Incheon. This is the world’s largest plant with a total capacity of 78.96MW. Doosan Fuel Cell has been involved from the second to fourth phase, supplying 124 fuel cells of 440kW (total capacity: 58.96MW) to the plant. In addition, they will offer long term services.

Shinincheon Bitdream Fuel Cell Power Plant will produce 700GWh electricity annually which powers 250,000 households in the capital area and heats 44,000 households. Moreover, the plant will absorb 24,000 tons of fine dust every year, purifying the air that about 700,000 people can breathe.

Meanwhile, Doosan Fuel Cell celebrated the operation of ‘Western Incheon Fuel Cell Phase 5 on October 29, at the Western Power Headquarters in Seo-gu, Incheon. Doosan provided the plant with 46 fuel cells(20.24MW) in the 5th phase and the operation was brought forward by one month.

Western Incheon Fuel Cell Power Plant is composed of 5 phases with a total capacity of 76.88MW which is the second largest following the Shinincheon Bitdream Fuel Cell Power Plant. Doosan Fuel Cell has been involved from the 2nd to 5th phase, offering a total 149(65.68MW). The plant can power approximately 240,000 households.

“Both sites add value as the Shinincheon Bitdream Fuel Cell Power Plant is the world’s largest in its kind and the Western Incheon Fuel Cell Power Plant is a site where Doosan Fuel Cell has installed the largest amount of fuel cells in our history,” said an official from Doosan Fuel Cell.

Doosan Fuel Cell has planned to ramp up its production capacity up to 275MW by 2022 so that they can meet the needs of hydrogen economy moving forward. Out of 507.79MW of hydrogen fuel cells(1,156 fuel cells) Doosan Fuel Cell has provided so far, 433.43MW(987 fuel cells) are in operation and 76.36MW(169 fuel cells) are being installed.
