Doosan Fuel Cell and Doosan Fuel Cell Power participated in the ‘Fuel Cell Export Industrialization Vision Declaration Ceremony held at the L Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on March 23rd. About 100 people attended the event, including Hooseok Che, CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell (and Chairman of the Korea Hydrogen Fuel Cell Industry Association), Kim Jongjeon, CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell Power, Park Iljun, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Australian Ambassador to Korea Catherine Raper

Prior to the event, CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell Hooseok Che, and Deputy Minister Iljoon Park of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy are taking a commemorative photo.

This event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Hydrogen Fuel Cell Industry Association, aims to present vision and strategy to foster hydrogen fuel cells, an eco-friendly and distributed energy source, as a new export engine, and to achieve 1GW (3 billion dollars) of accumulated hydrogen fuel cell exports by 2030. At the end of last year, Korea had the world's largest fuel cell power generation market, supplying approximately 859 MW and has achieved overseas orders worth about 350 million dollars (111.6 MW, China) based on its supply experience in manufacturing, installation, and operation.

CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell, who serves as the chairman of the Korea Hydrogen Fuel Cell Industry Association, is delivering an opening speech.

Backed by these achievements, the government has launched the 'Fuel Cell Export Industrialization Support Strategy', which includes three strategies and seven tasks to support hydrogen fuel cell export. They are ▲advancement of the domestic industrial environment, ▲improvement of global competitiveness, and ▲customized overseas market entry.

Doosan Fuel Cell is the largest hydrogen fuel cell company in Korea that has achieved a total supply of more than 560 MW, including facilities currently under construction. In September 2021, it supplied 1.76 MW of hydrogen fuel cells to the Nanhai region of Foshan, China, which is the first hydrogen fuel cell export in Korea. In April 2022, Doosan Fuel Cell signed a supply agreement in April, which will allow 4.84MW of hydrogen fuel cells to be supplied to Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, China, and in November, signed another agreement to supply a total 105MW hydrogen fuel cells in China.

Doosan Fuel Cell Power is also preparing to enter overseas markets based on its unrivaled supply record of hydrogen fuel cells for buildings in Korea.

After the vision declaration ceremony, an MOU for export cooperation between Korea and Australia was also signed. “This MOU will allow Korea, a powerhouse in hydrogen utilization, and Australia, a powerhouse in hydrogen production, to develop a win-win relationship through mutual cooperation,” says Hooseok Che, CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell, who serves as the chairman of the Korea Hydrogen Fuel Cell Industry Association,

Meanwhile, the Korea Hydrogen Fuel Cell Industry Association was established in November last year to expand the supply of hydrogen fuel cells, prepare a foundation for cooperation between the private sector, academia, and research institutes, and secure opportunities to enter overseas hydrogen power generation markets. Doosan Fuel Cell is participating in the association as a Chairman company and Fuel Cell Power is participating as an executive company.
