Doosan Fuel Cell has been running an ESG committee since 2022 to discuss ESG management performance and tasks for each team and mid- to long-term directions every year.

The committee began with the introduction of last year's ESG activities by Kwangyoung Lee, head of the ESG team followed by the results of the ESG significance evaluation in 2024, the implementation plans for this year's major ESG tasks being pursued by each team, including ▲additional energy cutting measures to reduce greenhouse gases in factories, ▲measures to improve environmental performance such as waste recycling, ▲ESG management of supply chains improvement and ▲plans to strengthen social contribution activities.

In particular, a cooperation plan between teams to reduce the environmental impact of the entire product process, which will be promoted as a mid- to long-term action of Doosan Fuel Cell, was also discussed.

The concept of 'reducing the environmental impact of product lifecycle' means that producers should play a central role in minimizing negative factors that affect the environment at product life cycle, from research and development to manufacturing and disposal.

Recently, not only has the "Basic Act on Resource Circulation" been expanded and reorganized into the "Act on Promotion of Transition to Circular Economy and Society" in Korea, but various policies to revitalize the circular economy have been promoted, highlighting eco-friendly practices in product lifecycles, and major domestic companies’ practices are also increasing. Developing eco-friendly hydrogen fuel cells as its main business, Doosan Fuel Cell expects that the reduction of environmental impact in the product lifecycle will soon contribute to business performance.

Doosan Fuel Cell COO Doosoon Lee is delivering his remarks.

"In order to proactively respond to climate change and secure business competitiveness, we need to further strengthen the eco-friendliness of the product lifecycle," says COO Doosoon Lee. "At the same time, please devote yourself to the basics of manufacturing, such as safety, quality, and customer satisfaction."

Doosan Fuel Cell plans to share ESG activities through ESG committees twice a year and quarterly ESG working-level meetings each year.
