On April 17th, Doosan Fuel Cell signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Shinsejong Bitdream Headquarter of KOSPO and Doosan Enerbility at the plant located in Sejong City, to collaborate on flexible energy resource
integration technologies.

The MOU aims to improve the overall efficiency of the Shinsejong Bitdream Headquarter’s CHP plant and facilitate its transition into an eco-friendly plant by integrating technologies and products developed by Doosan Fuel Cell
and Doosan Enerbility into the plant. The Shinsejong Bitdream Headquarter’s CHP plant began commercial operations in June 2024, with a capacity of 630MW of electricity (420MW from gas turbines and 210MW from steam turbines) and 340Gcal/h of thermal energy, using LNG as its primary fuel. Doosan Enerbility supplied the plant’s steam turbines.

Through technological cooperation, three companies will collaborate to develop an optimized combined heat and power (CHP) mode utilizing up to 40MW of hydrogen fuel cells and enhance automatic generation control (AGC) operational technologies for grid stabilization. Additionally, the companies plan to explore the development of business models incorporating these technologies into the CHP plant by establishing a collaborative working group and
maintaining ongoing cooperation.

A Doosan Fuel Cell’s Vice President Seungjun Lee stated, “This MOU has enabled the development of a new eco-friendly business model that enhances generation efficiency, and additional revenue growth is expected upon its development.” He added, “Going forward, we are committed to developing various business models that can create greater synergy through collaboration with other companies, in addition to existing orders."
